Back Pain & Disc Problems
Traditionally, surgery and pain medications have be employed by doctors to address problems involving the spine. The complications from back surgery can be severe and may result in permanent debilitating conditions. Spine Medical Journal reported “84% of patients that undergo spinal surgery for pain revert back to the original pain or worse in 12 months or less”. Pain medications can make it difficult for a person to carry-on with normal day-to-day activities and still does nothing to correct the underlying cause of the condition.
We are one of only a few hundred clinics in the United States that have combined the specialties of physical medicine rehab, medical care and chiropractic care to address all the components of back pain and disc problems.
Our multi-specialty team approach and using the Pettibon Spinal Rehab system has proven to be a successful for low back pain due to disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, arthritis and facet syndrome. This treatment has provided a non-surgical option for athletes and in general, a larger portion of the population where surgery in contraindicated.
The key is finding out what is the underlying cause of not only the pain, but the disc herniation. This is the only way to get out of pain, stay out of pain and be able to function. We do complimentary consults to determine candidacy for this treatment program.
Success with Disc problems:
“I suffered with low back pain and pain down my leg. I took some anti-inflammatory pills to alleviate the pain and it did not work. The pain continued to get worse and I was incapable of physical activity.
My doctors couldn’t see the cause of my problem. I never thought physical therapy or chiropractic could help me and I was very skeptical but I could not find answers anywhere else.
The Peak Performance team found I had a herniated disc in my lower spine causing my pain. The combination of the physical therapy, chiropractic care and the medical care was the key to my great results.
The Peak Performance team has exceeded my expectations. Now I am out of pain and I can participate in activities I enjoy.”
